There is a remote chance that he is James Temple, son of Charles L. and Ann L. (Bashaw) Temple, despite the poor match of places. His timing is correct, and his marriage records in TN were one page different in the same book as Thomas Byshaw and Sarah (Lever) Temple, Virginius and Octia (Gates) Temple, and several pages removed from, but in the same book as, the marriage of Charles L. and Mary (Bybee) Temple and Thomas' marriage to Mary Parker. So, Richard James' marriage was right in the middle of all the people who are the known brothers of James Temple. However, Richard James' official birth date is one year after the 1860 census, but he appeared in the 1860 census. This last problem prevents his identification as the same person.
