Funeral Services Will Be Held Tomorrow Afternoon at 2 O'clock

Fred Schrimser, aged 75 years of 4 Gautier street, died at the Memorial hospital at 1 o'clock yesterday morning of ailments incident to old age.

The deceased was born in Germany and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schrimser. At an early age he came to this country and was united in marriage with Miss Mary Ray. He leaves the following children: Frank of East Pittsburgh, Mrs. Arthur S. Edwards of Scranton. These stepchildren survive: Mrs. Effie McHugh, Toledo, O.: Mrs. George Wentz, Conemaugh; Mrs. Ernest Morgan, this city; Charles L. Ray, this city, and Robert and Edward Ray, at home. Twenty-nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and his wife also survive.

Funeral services will be held from the home tomorrow at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Charles Strombon of St. Mark's Episcopal church will officiate. Interment will be in Grandview cemetery.

In 1931, when the depression began, and the banks failed, Fred could not afford to return to school. He had met Florence and fell in love and they decided to get married. Their first home was in Tacoma, WA. where Fred worked for a plywood factory. In 1939, they moved to San Francisco, where Fred worked
for the Acme Brewing Company, and later learned the neon tube bending trade. He joined the Masonic order while they lived there. Fred was not in WW II because he had had a kidney removed. During the war, their home was open to many friends and relatives who were in California for the service, or were passing through. In 1948, they decided to leave San Francisco because they felt that a large city was not the place to raise two children. They left California and ended up in Puyallup, Washington. They lived there one year, and took off, looking for another place to live. They went to Spokane, Washington, liked the city, and settled down there. Fred first worked in a paint factory, and later went to work for Williams Brothers Neon Sign Co. where he made the first "time and temperature" sign.
