Noah died on 11 April 1881 in Detroit, Somerset, ME.^21131,21134 Buried in Lord Cemetery, Detroit, ME. Grave site was in bad repair in 1969 when inspected by Danny Smith. He has reference number RLT # 1013.⁹⁷⁰ Fifth child of Levi and Rachel. Some confusion exists about whether Levi and Rachel had Noah in 1778, and the Noah that married Abigail Huff was his son. It is certainly possible, but I think it is not correct, the simpler solution being that there was but one Noah.

Town records show that Noah and his brother Levi, Jr., were elected to town offices in Montville, but it is not possible to determine what offices because of the poor penmanship and the faded ink. Because town records of Detroit were poorly kept prior to 1892, they establish few dates for the Temple family. Is is related by Miss Carmeta Appleby that at one time a Ralph M. Carter owned what at one time was the Noah Temple farm in Montville. No descendants of the Temple family in the male line have ever lived in Unity.

The East Somerset County Register indicates the Noah Temple family removed from Montville to Detroit about 1845. In Detroit he settled on the place where James Brann was living in 1912. "He cleared much of the land back of the home place and several acres for Rufus Plummer for a pair of seven foot cattle."

Because birth dates of most of his first thirteen children are not known, they are listed in the order given in The East Somerset County Register with one exception - Merrill Temple. Children 14 through 16 were found in the 1860 Census. Is is only assumed that they were
Noah's children because they lived in his house, but perhaps they were grandchildren through some deceased son. Children 17 and 18 are probably his because they are buried in his Cemetery lot. Parents: Reverend Levi TEMPLE-912 and Rachel NUTTING-1104.
