Arthur Temple Dies; Funeral is Sunday

Arthur Temple, a resident of Wellsville since 1917, died at his home on Stevens Street last night at 8 o'clock. He had been ill for about a month and a half.

Mr. Temple was born on Feb 27, 1865 in Sugargrove, Pa. the son of Hiram and Susan Nichols Temple. He was a direct descendent of Ethan Allen. He was married on Oct. 31, 1891 to Lillian Adair Healy, who survives. They came to Wellsville from Whitesville in 1917. Mr. Temple had been employed by the B & O Railroad for 23 years when he retired at the age of 78.

Surviving together with his wife are two sons, H. Lyle Temple of Wellsville and Dean H Temple of Poughkeepsie, one sister, Miss Lotta Temple of Wellsville, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A son, Ralph E Temple died in 1944.

Mr. Temple was a member of the Whitesville and Wellsville methodist churches for 40 years and a member of the Wellsville IOOF. The Rev. George W. Keeling will conduct funeral services Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of his son Lyle Temple on the Stannards Rd. Burial will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery.
